NEW CANADIAN DENTAL CARE PLAN VERSUS PENSIONERS’ DENTAL SERVICE PLAN (PDSP)

Many of our members ask us for information about the Canadian dental plan, such as when to apply, what services are covered and whether they are eligible.  We invite you to visit the website of the National Office of Federal Retirees by clickin on the link hereafter:  https://federalretirees.ca/en/news-views/news-listing/february/government-announces-the-canadian-dental-care-plan.   You can also visit the Government of Canada Website for more information : Canadian Dental Care Plan

We draw your attention to the left-hand column: “Are you eligible ?”  Take the time to analyze the information carefully because it says that to be eligible means: “Not having access to dental insurance – no dental insurance available through your pension (previous employer) or a family member’s pension benefits”.  If you cancel your private insurance in order to qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, you may no longer have access to “any” insurance !

For members who have questions about their eligibility for the new Canadian plan, they should call 1-833-537-4342 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. local time, Monday to Friday.   We will share more information as it becomes available.

Please take the time to read the informative letter from Mr. Jacques Lambert, Chairman of the Board of Directors, in response to questions from one of our members. It will inform you about the history of our PDSP (Pensioners’ Dental Services Plan), the Public Service Dental Care Plan (PSDCP) and finally the new Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). Click here
